Instructions

1) Decide on which option you wish to select to perform calculations.

Constant Milk Quality: Use average figures for B/F, Protein, SCC and Bactoscan then enter Monthly Volume.
Varying Monthly Quality: Use monthly figures for B/F, Protein, SCC, Bactoscan and Monthly Volume.

2) Choose whether EODC/EDC

3) Choose how you want prices to be displayed: by Contract or by Price.

Glossary

Annual Average - This is the average price that would be paid on all litres produced if the milk price schedule stayed the same for a whole year.
Bactoscan - Results should be entered into the table on a 'per ml' basis e.g. 30,000
Butterfat - Results should be entered as % figures e.g. 3.97
EODC - Every other day collection, can affect volume bonuses and transport charges. See 'Assumptions' for more details.
Monthly Price - The price received for the month in which contracts are based on. For example, if prices are based on contracts enforced in August 2004, monthly price will be for August 2004.
Order Results - Results can be ranked according to two options: 'Contract' (Contracts are ranked alphabetically) or 'Price' (Companies are ranked according to annual average price).
Protein - Results should be entered as % figure e.g. 3.30
SCC - Results should be entered into the table on a 'per ml' basis e.g. 185,000

ACC North Wales
Price exclusive of loyalty or group bonuses that apply to a few farmers.
ACC South Wales
Price exclusive of loyalty or group bonuses that apply to a few farmers.
Barber
No transport charges for 'economic volumes'.
Blackmore Vale Farm
No transport charges as long as more than 500,000 litres supplied per year.
Bridgend Creameries Level To qualify for flat supply contract, volumes have to be within +/- 10% of a contracted average monthly volume.
Dairy Crest Aspatria
These prices all include DCD and group bonuses and are the new contracts.

Dansco Level Supply

The following profile bonus has been automatically added into the price and has not been automatically incorporated into the seasonal production calculations. This will be completed as soon as possible.

Volume split between:
SUMMER - 1st April to 30th September
WINTER - 1st October to 31st March (volume must be at least 75% of Summer volume)

Bonus
Summer & Winter - Between -10 & +15% = 0.3ppl

Penalties
Summer - All litres above +15% = -1.0ppl
Winter - All litres below -10% = -1.0ppl

We have assumed the winter volume to be at least 75% and that both fall into the bonus section.

Transport Costs: Free within 30 miles of Dansco 0.2ppl for each 15 miles outside of radius

Contract bonus:
12 Month - 0.2ppl
18 Month - 0.25ppl
24 Month - 0.3ppl.
We have assumed contract bonuses for 24 mths (0.3ppl)

Dansco Seasonal

Transport Costs: Free within 30 miles of Dansco 0.2 for each 15 miles outside of radius

Contract bonus:
12 Month - 0.2ppl
18 Month - 0.25ppl
24 Month - 0.3ppl
We have assumed contract bonuses for 24 mths (0.3) ppl

DFB Compositional

Capital retention has been ignored.

Includes haulage bonuses for meeting the following conditions:
0.1ppl = 24hr Collection.
0.1ppl = Capacity for different tankers.
0.1ppl = If both of above are possible

First Milk

Prices based on indicative marginal values as published by First Milk. These are subject to possible change in the future.

Longslow Dairies
Longslow also refund the DairyCo Levy back to producers.
Milklink
Ignores Capital Retention and works on published indicative marginal values which are subject to change.
South Caernarfon Creameries
Only EODC available on South Caernarfon contract
United Dairy Farmers
Base Price does change due to seasonal changes almost every month rather than having a static base price and a seasonal payment schedule as on most other contracts.
