J & G (Jersey & Guernsey) Milk

The way in which we publish consumer data from TNS has changed. To provide more useful data we have split TNS information into the following sections:

Each page will give a snapshot of the market in terms of volume and expenditure.

Sales of J&G milk continue to show year on year growth, with 8.0m litres sold in the 52 weeks ending 7/09/08, 1.3% (0.1m litres) more than the previous year. Expenditure over the same period has also increased by 4.0% (£0.3m) to £7.8m. Part of the increase in expenditure is a result of an increase in the average price, which has increased by 4.0% (3.9ppl) to an average of £1.00/litre.

Notes to Data

  • The tables on this sheet show the expenditure, volume, and average price of liquid milk sold in Great Britain over the last 52-week period.  Please note that the price differentials for different fat levels of milk are probably due to different purchase pack size trends.  A degree of caution needs to be taken with these figures as with all market data.
  • All % changes based on year-on-year change.
