First Milk & Milk Link end merger talks

It has been announced that First Milk and Milk Link have agreed not to continue with their proposed merger. In a joint statement the two businesses said that after a process of due diligence and business planning, there were a number of important points that were unresolved including the valuation of the two businesses.

As a result, the statement said that neither company  felt it could agree merger terms that could be recommended to the respective memberships. The statement ended by saying that both boards believe that strong farmer-owned dairy businesses are vital to the UK dairy industry and would therefore focus on developing their respective companies.
