Barbers increase price by 2ppl
Published 15 June 2007
Somerset cheesemaker A.J & R.G Barber has announced that it is to increase the milk price paid to its producers by 2ppl from 1 July. This increase has been attributed to the farmer’s “justifiable and critical need to see a substantial increase in returns from milking cows if there is to be a sustainable UK Dairy Industry in the future”.
The increase on the supermarket bonus payment will give an MDC standard litre annual average price of 20.6ppl from 1 July.
