Arla Make Further Increase
Published 2 July 2007
Arla foods UK has announced that it is to increase its milk price by 0.3ppl from 1 July . The increase has been directly attributed to the improvements in dairy commodity returns and follows its recent announcement that prices would increase by 0.4ppl from 1 June.
In addition, Arla has announced that it will be suspending balancing charges on excess litres from 1 June until further notice with the hope that this arrangement will stand until the end of 2007. Arla had operated a scheme where litres in excess of an average production figure were paid for subject to a balancing charge. The charge stood at 3ppl in April and 1.36ppl in May. However, due to lower than predicted volumes supplied, little milk is having to be balanced.
