Wiseman positive over cream revenues
Published 4 July 2008

Processor Robert Wiseman has announced renewed optimism in cream revenues, with positive signs for the coming months. Cream prices had dropped substantially from peaking in autumn 2007, leading to Wiseman highlighting cream prices as a major cause for concern. However, throughout May and June the cream price has recovered somewhat, with signs positive for the future.

The news comes as Wiseman regained its contract to supply milk to 131 Netto stores in England and Wales that it had lost in October 2007; it has also agreed a nationwide contract to supply the convenience store Martin McColl.

The company has viewed these as signs of confidence in the company, in its AGM with its shareholders; Wiseman reported a 2% increase in sales compared to the previous year. It also commentated that it 1% fat milk 'the One' and ESL brands were also making good progress in a competitive market.
