First Milk invokes "force majeure" for second month

For the second month in a row, dairy Co-op First milk has announced "force majeure" for all September milk supplies. The news comes after First Milk announced that milk supplies for September were at least 5% below what was forecast for the period.
A possible reason for this could be the continued fall out in milk production from the poor weather conditions during the summer. A spokesman for First Milk stated that although it will continue to work with customers in minimising the impact, it is likely that the situation will go beyond September.
