Based on a cumulative figure of 12,324 million litres of production for the first 11 months of the quota year (according to RPA figures click here for more detail) and taking the 100% figure for the last 4 full weeks of the quota year along with a proportion of the litres for the week ending 03/03/07 (to prevent double counting of February production) gives a provisional, non- butterfat adjusted production figure of just under 13,500 million litres for the 2006/07 milk year.
Latest production figures from the RPA for the week ending 31/03/07 give a provisional figure of 251.1 million litres – 1.5 million litres up on a revised figure for the previous week but 2.5 million litres down on a corresponding figure for the previous year.
Scaled to 100%, production stands at 264.3 million litres which is 2.6 million litres down on a three-year average figure.

The above table contains the weekly volumes of wholesale milk deliveries to dairies in the UK (not butterfat adjusted) produced by the Rural Payments Agency (RPA). The sample covers the 30 largest purchasers, which take delivery of approximately 95% of the UK production. This information should only be used as a guide to trends rather than absolute figures. The RPA figures operate on a weekly basis from the second week in October to the end of March, the end of the quota year.
