Latest fertiliser prices show substantial increases between May and June. 20:10:10 bags averaged £430/tonne in June which is an increase of £40/tonne (10.3%) compared to May and £274/tonne more than June 2007. Other blended products have increased by between £35 - £50/tonne between May and June and are approximately £300/tonne more than June 2007.
Fertiliser prices are being heavily affected by the availability of Nitrogen. There have been reports that some distributors have sold out of supplies until September. Demand for Nitrogen has been increasing, especially from arable farmers on account of increasing grain prices which has resulted in price increases for Nitrogen.
Latest information shows AN bags averaged £338/tonne in June which was an increase of £6/tonne compared to May and £180/tonne more than June 2007.
